All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance provisions, charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Cheadle Hulme, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence suitable for the category of the rented vehicle is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Customers must also present identification and proof of their current address, along with valid payment details and a security deposit. Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or at our Cheadle Hulme office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All charges are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional insurance is obtained. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or missed reservations may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any hazardous actions. Transporting dangerous materials is prohibited, as is sub-letting or allowing unauthorized individuals to drive the vehicle. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used as intended, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Any travel beyond the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Cheadle Hulme is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not exceed the total rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not affect liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
